Camel Pots – Moss
Commonly known as canteens for camel riders, the original camel pots were made of thick terra cotta which prevented evaporation and kept water cool for hours in the desert. A harness was looped around the neck of the canteens which hung from the camel’s saddle. We asked its ceramic artisans in Portugal to recreate the camel pots as ceramic vases using an original antique as the form.
